William B. Laughead (1882-1958) was a logger and advertising manager for the Red River Lumber Company in Minnesota who wrote many pamphlets promoting the company. The one most notable was his story documenting the legendary folk hero, Paul Bunyan.Paul Bunyan in Bangor, MaineThis American folk tale had been told by loggers and drillers for years before Laughead first published it for a popular audience in 1922.
