Stacy Aumonier

A picture of the author Stacy Aumonier

It is an oddity of history that great talents are sometimes forgotten. I occasionally wonder about the odd and unlikely combination of events that must coincide and conspire in order for the world to "forget" great writers like Stacy Aumonier (1877-1928) or Stephen Leacock or Susan Glaspell. Lost to history and unknown to modern readers, Aumonier was a gifted short story writer, perhaps as good as they come, and was recognized as one of Britain's aspiring authors during his own lifetime.

I took the time this morning to start an effort to retrieve his works and make them available here.

I hope you enjoy the pieces I retrieve and take the time to share them with your friends.

Where Was Wych Street is a great introduction to this author's body of work.
